“The Doctrines Of Grace” Pt. 6 – Perseverance Of The Saints

“The Doctrines Of Grace” Pt. 6 – Perseverance Of The Saints

The 5th point of the TULIP is Perseverance of the Saints, often better known as the eternal security of the believer (or even, “Once saved, always saved.”). It teaches how the dead sinner, incapable of doing good but who has been saved by Christ, will be kept saved forever after he has been born again. It is this glorious doctrine of Grace that bestows hope and comfort upon believer’s. Our salvation is not dependent on us to keep because it was never ours to attain in the first place. It has always been only ever in God’s hands, and that is how we persevere.

Overview of Ezekiel

Ezekiel is written during the captivity of the nation of Israel by the Babylonians. It shows the various unusual things God commanded him to do as an object lesson for the Israelites, in spite of the fact that they will not listen to him. It shows God’s judgement, and how he will execute his judgement even if the Israelites wind up crying out for mercy. Ezekiel’s ministry came at great personal cost to him, but there was hope for a remnant in Israel even after all of those horrible things would come to pass.
