“The Doctrines Of Grace” Pt. 6 – Perseverance Of The Saints
The 5th point of the TULIP is Perseverance of the Saints, often better known as the eternal security of the believer (or even, “Once saved, always saved.”). It teaches how the dead sinner, incapable of doing good but who has been saved by Christ, will be kept saved forever after he has been born again. It is this glorious doctrine of Grace that bestows hope and comfort upon believer’s. Our salvation is not dependent on us to keep because it was never ours to attain in the first place. It has always been only ever in God’s hands, and that is how we persevere.
Scripture referenced in this sermon:
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. John 10:27-29
