It teaches how the dead sinner, incapable of doing good but who has been saved by Christ, will be kept saved forever after he has been born again. It is this glorious doctrine of Grace that bestows hope and comfort upon believer’s. Our salvation is not dependent on us to keep because it was never ours to attain in the first place. It has always been only ever in God’s hands, and that is how we persevere.

And yet, how even in the midst of it, the anonymous author who wrote this book nonetheless still sees the justice of God in what he has caused to happen to his nation, and still finds hope that they may yet find mercy because of God’s mercy.
