The book of Daniel takes place around 600 B.C. It covers the time just around the conquering of Jerusalem, the trials Daniel and his friends endured in Babylon, and lastly, the prophecies Daniel had about the future involving the events that would befall Babylon’s kings and the nation of Israel.

Ezekiel is written during the captivity of the nation of Israel by the Babylonians. It shows the various unusual things God commanded him to do as an object lesson for the Israelites, in spite of the fact that they will not listen to him. It shows God’s judgement, and how he will execute his judgement even if the Israelites wind up crying out for mercy. Ezekiel’s ministry came at great personal cost to him, but there was hope for a remnant in Israel even after all of those horrible things would come to pass.
